well, kevin said he was gonna go to a ceremony at lincoln’s tomb this morning, which starts at 10:30. right now it’s 9 degrees, so i seriously doubt he’ll be making it. maybe he’ll go to some other ceremony tonight, which will be inside, which is where any kind of ceremony should be, of course.
more photos of our trip to florida – i had gone running the first morning, on monday, and when i got back, mom and i went down to the open-air restaurant for our free breakfast. the free breakfast special was supposed to end sometime in january, but the very sweet woman at the front desk gave me free bfast vouchers anyway cause hotwire had said it’d be included.
we never ate a meal inside the whole time we were there.
here’s some people pulling up to eat.

because i booked the room on hotwire, i didn’t get to choose the actual room. our is the lowest balcony, mostly obscured by the palm tree. i realized, when looking up at the room, that only the balconies on our floor had a wall around them – the rest were just fenced, so you could see out when sitting down. maybe they did that so you’d have some privacy from the parking lot? or maybe they did it because who wants to sit down and look at a parking lot? we didn’t spend a huge time out on the balcony, but it was nice to sit out there at night in my skirt because i could sit out there in my skirt! it was too hot during the day!

the beautiful pool, with a waterfall. not only was the pool never crowded, but i don’t recall any other people in the pool every time i got in it. it was a little bit warm, but not too warm, it was perfect.

the view from our living room window – so you we could see some of the water. but we didn’t spend much time in the room anyway.

another view of the pool, with the restaurant in back of it. this is about how crowded the pool was most of the time.

me at the restaurant after a delicious breakfast.

mom in the lobby.

in the lobby, with the fanciest computer room i’ve ever seen in back of me. i printed our return boarding passes in there. how many little office centers in hotels have a nice couch in them?

i’ve posted all these pictures and we hadn’t even left the hotel! well, except my run.
we went on a dolphin cruise monday afternoon, and i have soooooo many photos, but they’ll have to wait. i have to get one million things done in the next few hours, and then more things after that.
ok then,
mrs. very busy lincoln’s birthday hughes.
