Spot and Lemondrop, almost always happy to share my legs for the sleeping. They aren’t bothered by the fact that their combined weight crushes my legs a little bit. But they’re so cute!

This groundhog seemed to be just chillin.

The rising moon, always so magical.

Now, this is a lovely picture, IMO, because of the lighting…but it’s a giant hill of dirt! When we passed it I was intrigued. When we cruised around the lake we saw that somebody somewhere else is clearly putting in a pool, and they have mounds of dirt, but nothing like this tall pile on this property. Hmm, we’ll have to go back before the season ends and see if they’ve done anything with it.
And the season is certainly about to end – we have to take the boat to storage on Oct. 24th or 25th, and after the crazy heat of today and tomorrow – today, for example, it’s 92 degrees – then the temps will plummet and hopefully it’ll rain. But I’m hoping for at least another boat ride or two next week, when it warms up a little.

Heron on top of a tree – it looks like it’s in a nest but when it flew off we realized it was just on top of a branch.

Early in September I was sitting on the deck and this hummingbird landed right on the arm of the chair! It hung out there for a few moments, enough time to get this picture. A rare occurrence, indeed.

And boom, that wraps up September, now that the middle of October is almost upon us.
Ok then,
Mrs. G.H.
