First – we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on Sept. 16th! Amazing, really. I can’t believe that it’s been twenty years already. Blink of an eye for sure. We went to the Chesapeake Seafood House for dinner; we’d gone there on the evening of our very first date.
We’d actually gone to lunch at Incredibly Delicious so many years ago and it went so well, and the next day Kevin was about to go somewhere and do a triathlon, so I think I suggested that we go out to dinner on the very same night, because why not?
This time we went super early because we were so hungry and I got lobster because I never, ever get lobster.

A good time was had by all, and Kevin surprised me with a beautiful emerald necklace. Wow, and emerald! It’s the gemstone of the 20th anniversary and it’s also my birthstone so I was doubly happy to get it. Here I’m wearing it with another beautiful heart necklace he bought me a few years ago.

Amy, Mom and I went to the art fair at the Carillon one Saturday and the weather was ideal and we had a delicious lunch afterwards at La Piazza downtown. Delicious.

That same Saturday, Kevin and Jim sat out on the deck and enjoyed cigars.

Just another darling deer in between our house and Mom’s. Lately a deer has been sleeping right under my bedroom window and I see it every morning when I get up.

RIley and Lester enjoying the day. Les continues to decline and we continue to worry about him. When we called the vet to tell her that Les seems to be on the way out, she said he can eat whatever he wants, so at least there’s that. He continues to eat and to purr and sees to feel OK so hopefully he does.

Ok then,
Mrs. October Hughes.
