it’s both fascinating and maddening to read the capitolfaxblog.com. lots of people who know all about the state goverment write in with comments. yesterday the house voted unanimously to start a committee to see about impeaching the governor. today the committee met – for an hour. this seems like a very short amount of time to me.
also, i keep reading that in order to impeach him, they can do it on NO GROUNDS WHATSOEVER. they keep saying this on the capitol fax.
but, because the legislature seems to be TOTALLY SCREWED UP, it can/probaby will drag on. maybe for MONTHS. and this is just the VERY FIRST STEP – after the committee finally recommends that he be impeached, then the house has to vote, then the senate has to try him.
the whole this is RIDICULOUS. in the short hour they met this morning, they could have all raised their hands and voted YES – WE SHOULD IMPEACH THE GUY.
tomorrow morning, blago’s bigtime high-profile lawyer will be there at the proceedings. will they let him interrupt constantly? i feel they will. and i’m sure he will.
a circus, our state politics are a circus.
to make it worse, it snowed today, and it has been gray and dark and lousy outside for the past two days. christine wrote to say that it was eighteen below when she got up in denver, but at least she knows that it WILL be sunny there a lot, and it will warm up and the snow will melt. but then, of course, they’ll have BUCKETS of it again.
i didn’t even go outside yesterday. this morning i ventured out in the falling snow and as i was creeping down the unshoveled road, i thought, why live in a place where it becomes treacherous to drive? a place where the sun won’t shine for long stretches, so a blanket of SAD covers the entire populance?
now that kevin is retired, maybe we need to be snowbirds. december through march, that would be ideal.
on a positive note here, surely there’s something positive…it’s almost christmas. hey, and dec. 21st is the shortest day of the year, which means that after that it’ll start to be lighter longer.
on one hand, i need to make some christmas cookies. on the other hand, this invariably results in me gaining weight because of all the cookies. so i need to think about that a bit.
maybe just a FEW kinds of cookies. maybe some relatively HEALTHY cookies i could eat instead of the delicious peanut butter cookies with hershey’s kisses in the middle, one of my favorite kinds of cookie.
ok, one more blago note – how is he going to PAY his fancy schmancy attorney? he’s hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, and from his phone calls everybody on the planet knows he’s DESPERATE FOR MONEY. he must have lots of money in some accounts, all that money he has shaken people down for.
