us gold

the king and queen! resplendent in gold! it was a successful ballet; the dancers were superb, the sets were dazzling and as you can see, the costumes were incredible. AND kevin and i never marched out into the middle of the dancers dancing.

it was tiring, and i can’t say why. last night kevin took a nap before going to work at 11:00 p.m.; he started napping at nine and i napped with him and then i just continued to sleep all night long.

these dancers in the company continue to amaze me. i read their bios and most of them are in at least a few if not a bunch of different things at school, plus they have all that ballet dancing to do, and some of them have jobs teaching ballet, too.

more insight into the dancers’ pain – gina troppa was sitting backstage in between acts, looking a little bit beat, and i asked her if her feet were bleeding (I WAS KIDDING). and she said no, that was during the “nutcracker.”

during one rehearsal julie told the dancers that they have to dance through the pain. and that continues to amaze me, that they’re able to dance and make it look beautiful instead of incredibly difficult, plus they’re smiling like crazy.

i have to go, even though i have many many things i want to discuss, but here’s the photo of our other costumes.
