tonight kevin informed me that i haven’t written in SIX WHOLE days. where has the time gone? what have i been doing?

well, we saw “harry potter” last wednesday, the day it opened. it was GREAT. not as good as the book, but really good. and BOOK SEVEN, the final book, is coming out on saturday and kevin tells me it’s going to arrive at our house that very day.

by owl, maybe?

i decided i’d better re-read book six, and so i started that on monday, and finished yesterday, and then decided that it couldn’t hurt to re-read book five as well. but i don’t think i’ll finish it before saturday, but that’s ok. I LOVE HARRY POTTER. it’s nice to like a children’s book that other adults also like. because i’ve always liked children’s books, but usually i don’t mention it because i’m not a child.

at the library this week i checked out a couple of my favorite children’s books because i decided maybe i should try to write one. because ms. rowling did it and it worked out pretty well for her, didn’t it? at the very least, i can re-read some of my favorite books.

speaking of thing childlike, we also saw “transformers,” that’s right, the movie BASED ON A HASBRO TOY. that’s what it said, right up there on the screen, and i can’t think of other movies based on toys. except we sat through a horrendous trailer for a movie called “bratz,” based on the annoying-looking dolls of the same name, so now maybe all movies will be based on toys.

a few years ago i wrote about movies being based on theme-park rides, after seeing the very first “pirates of the caribbean,” and i guess this is the natural progression. what’s next, i wonder? movies based on breakfast cereals? the captain crunch movie? Uh oh, i hope nobody reads that and STEALS MY GREAT IDEA.

do they still make captain crunch? it’s one of the many many sugar cereals i was deprived of as a kid. i’m almost positive they don’t have Count Chocula anymore, and i never even got to try it. for some reason, though, sometimes mom bought Super Sugar Crisp, and i think that might still be around, except they changed the name to the more politically correct Super GOLDEN crisp. oh, it’s made of GOLD, not sugar, not to worry.

rehearsals are going pretty well. i’ve had to go to three so far, and so far i continue to saunter and sashay but mostly i sit around and read harry potter. i know i could join in singing the big numbers that are being performed onstage, but does anybody really want my voice added to the mix? doubtful.

“transformers” was really good, by the way. i’m not exactly sure why we went to see it, but it was so surprisingly good. hokey at times, but it was so entertaining and fun and jam-packed with excitement. two thumbs up from me.

i have to go now, because i want to make a bigger dent in HP#5 before i go to sleep.

i hope your summer is going well.

ok then,

wednesday grace.
