because when it comes right down to it, is there anything else to thankgiving besides eating a lot? in our family we don’t have a big meal till the evening, tomorrow it will be at six. amy said that way if people want to come over early and start grazing on snacks, then they won’t be totally full by dinner. because usually people eat a bunch of appertizery-type things five minutes before the meal, and then people aren’t hungry.
i’m not sure what’s to prevent people from getting full by grazing all afternoon, but at least somebody has a plan. i’m making french bread and rolls and sweet potatoes and broccoli divan and i’m also in charge of the blue cheese-stuff celery.
there will be way too much food. last night amy announced that she’s going to make a butter cake (in addition to the pumpkin and mince pies and gingerbread), but i suggested that maybe she make that another time.
i look forward to watching macy’s thanksgiving day parade. in theory, anyway; the huge amount of commercials and the cloying singing sometimes makes me want to turn off the TV.
it’s supposed to be kind of warm tomorrow so hopefully we’ll go on a long walk, in order to further make room for the large amount of food.
ok then,
wednesday afternoon grace.
