After the excitement at the Hobbies, Arts & Crafts building Mom and I wandered around a bit. We stopped at the Dairy building, of course, to get a picture of the butter cow.

A high-diving show was about to start so we sat down to watch, and it’s the first time I can recall that it wasn’t hot to sit in the sun. The show seemed to be created for very small children so it was a little annoying, but the finale was just as good as it’s ever been.

Sometimes I wonder who these divers are, where do they come from, were they competitive divers in school? Had any of them wanted to be in the Olympics? Maybe next year I’ll stop and ask.
After that, the coliseum, where I’d hoped we’d see a horse show. But the horses hadn’t arrived, and instead it was set up for a dog agility competition. It was highly entertaining, and I took a video of one of the best dogs we saw. It was such a quick and smart dog, so much fun to watch.
Some of the dogs ran up the ramp but were afraid to run back down and had to be coaxed. Some of them didn’t quite understand what they were supposed to do, but they were all so cute. After one finished it leapt into its owner’s arms, very sweet.
A good time was had by all. We were very tired by the end of the day, which always seems to be the case at the fair. As we left people were pouring in the main gate so it was a good time to skedaddle.
ok then,
Mrs. October Hughes.
