…and it’s good to be inside right now, but i’m going running pretty soon because this is the warmest it’s going to be all week…and today it’s only supposed to be 29.
so yeah, i don’t think we’ll be seeing any daffodils in the yard anytime soon.
back to remembering our brief yet warm and wonderful trip to florida…
here’s a pelican on top of the “manatee” sign. those blue boats belong to the company who did our great dolphin tour.
they said there were manatees around, so we decided to see if we could see any.

first, we lunched.

i like this picture because the bird looks like he’s surveying his boats.

this is a portion of this incredible, multi-million dollar yacht that belongs to the owner of the marina. 7 million? 2 million? i can’t remember. more than one. before he owned the marina, the guy was…in pharmaceuticals? can’t remember that either. he had some type of job where he made lots and lots and LOTS of money.

this gives you a little better perspective of how huge the yacht is.

and here it is from the back.

the next boat down had a nice doggie sunning himself on top.

we walked down the dock to where they said we’d see some manatees, but there weren’t any at all. so instead, we went back to the hotel and got in the pool and the hot tub. in the hot tub, i kept noticing these tiny little lizards crawling all around.

so tiny…i even saw one peeking up betwen the tiles next to the hot tub.

a bird, taking a stroll.

the very crowded pool area. i mean, the water in the pool was he perfect temperature, as was the hot tub, and there were rarely any people in either the whole time we were there. crazy.

a lovely night…

after we swam and hot tubbed, we went out to dinner – mom wanted to go some place that had live music, and i looked up places but nothing sounded so great. we finally found a place that was all the way on the northern end of fort myers beach, so off we went.
the drive wasn’t very long, not even 20 minutes, and the north end of the beach seemed more crowded, more touristy, and not so upscale. we found the bar where the music was playing, but it was so crowded that when we finally found a table we couldn’t hear the lone singer because of the crowd noise. so instead we went o the restaurant right downstairs from the bar – we sat out on the patio and could hear the music, and had a great meal.
a very busy first day in fort myers. but the next day was even more so…
ok then,
mrs. monday hughes.
