i have to say it felt a bit disheartening to read today that the pope is now on twitter.  so there he’ll be, twittering away in a papal kind of way…and it continues to be one technological thing that i just can’t throw myself in to, or even have any interest in.

BEHIND THE TIMES is what i am.  woefully, woefully behind the times, and getting farther away from the times with each passing minute.

soon i will be like a cavewoman, crouching over a (feeble) fire, trying to grill a bit of old turnip that i scrounged for in the forest, while all around me, people will be zinging around wearing their jet packs, communicating in ever more breathtakingly fast and furious ways.  the pope leading the crowd.

very sad.

kevin is sick today, and i asked him if he was going to take a nap and he said no.  he won’t take naps when he’s sick.  so i took one in his honor.

it was lovely.

we carted tubs up from the basement yesterday, and i stayed up too late putting way too much stuff around.  i had given myself a stern talking-to, that i would NOT put up ALL the dumb decorations, but now most surfaces are covered with various pieces of christmas debris.

i am going to an ugly xmas sweater party tonight, but i waited so long to buy one that the only thing left at the goodwill was a kids size large xmas t shirt, plus a pair of very comfy-looking pajama pants.

so it’s technically not a sweater, but BOY is it delightfully ugly!

i am theoretically going to bake some cookies to take to the party, but the afternoon is rushing past in a flurry, so it might not get done.

meanwhile…when we got all the xmas stuff out, suddenly lester and chester were madly playing with a bit of silver garland.  they were going completely crazy with the garland, as if it was a pack of real mice.

i don’t recall actually owning any silver garland.

maybe they went out and bought it themselves, because they were upset that i hadn’t decorated yet.

ok then.
