Somehow I didn’t leave our place near the beach til after 1:00 in the afternoon. I slept in. I ran over the bridge over the causeway and this line of pelicans was perched on the little dock.

I can’t believe how close we were to beach. I made a little video as I ran towards it.
Because it was a bit chilly, this was the least-crowded day at the beach. I took approximately a million bazillion photos and videos but here’s just one. There were many gulls but also these birds with the orange beaks.

This is the only day I ran north, and I only went for a mile and a half because I was worried about my leg pain. It never did bother me. I took a ridiculous amount of photos, which is what of course I always do a the beach. Sand and waves and sea birds til the cows come home.
On the way back to our place, the bridge went up right after I crossed it and I took the opportunity to capture that. The guy actually blew the warning horn when I was running on top of the bridge and it made me jump.
Here the bridge is actually raising and a sailboat glides through. It was fun to see it.
We went to Venice, only a few minutes’ drive, and I enjoyed perusing a few shops. Venice has many many cute litle shops living the main streets, and I started buying stuff like crazy even though of course I need absolutely no more stuff, ever. Mom gamely joined me for a few minutes but then she’d had her fill of shopping and was content to sit outside and watch the people. We finally stopped at a gelato place which was delicious.

We took a short drive over to our friends Lori Ann and Bill’s cute little condo nearby. Well, it would have been a short drive but sometimes I get confused on the roads when there is no navigational help.
ended up making a millions u-turns and when we somehow finally managed to get to the condo complex I proceeded to get lost in the labrynth, even though I’d actually driven right past their condo on the way in. Whew.
Lori Ann made us the best meal we ended up having while in Venice, fish stuffed with crab topped with Lobster Bisque. Mmm. She’d bought Mom a key lime pie so thank goodness Mom was getting her key lime pie requirements for the day every day of our vacation.
It was nice to spend time with them; I hadn’t had many conversations with Bill and it was great to get to know him better. He also loves hiking. A good time was had by all.
Ok then,
Mrs. end of March Hughes.
