I went running on the beach again on the 27th. I was going to only run every other day because I’d hurt my leg a few weeks before, but then I decided I’d be fine, running on the soft sand. This time I headed south, towards a jetty. A pelican was perched there.

And he had a pelican friend.

After taking approximately two bazillion pictures of the jetty and the pelicans, I ran back and saw theses shells arranged in a heart shape. Very cool.

I was pleased with my run and sat down on the beach after walking taking off my shoes and walking into the water to cool my feet.

When I was sitting there, a woman next to me said, “I thought you were going to jump in.” I thought about this and then peeled off my running shirt and did, indeed, jump in the ocean. Well, I didn’t actually jump, but I waded in and floated around a bit. It was awesome. I would never willingly expose my pale and flabby stomach to anybody, but after seeing such an assortment of humanity there on the beach I decided I just didn’t care.

It was so refreshing.

When I got back to our cottage, we decided to drive up Casey Key, which started right next to the beach. More to come…

Ok then,

Mrs. April Hughes.
