Oh boy. Because I had a cold a little over a week ago I got waaaayyyyy behind in my xmas preparations. And because I had a cold, I had Afib in the night. Sickness brings it on. That was the 14th. Then, on the 20th, I had a 1/2 glass of sherry because my nice pulmonary Nurse Practitioner thought wine would be fine. But nope, Afib in the night.

And finally, on Saturday I did a 45 minutes HIIT (High intensity interval training) workout because I like that it incorporates very impactful cardio with weights and then afterwards I didn’t stop for a minute, but went completely crazy with the baking/decorating.

When I finally sat down in the evening, you guess it, one more bout of Afib. I also didn’t remember to drink any water at all for a few hours while baking, and lack of water also contributes to the stupid Afib.

I’m hoping, at least, that these different reasons were what caused it. I know that eventually it will get worse but I’m always trying to not trigger the triggers.

And this is why, early afternoon, I’m sitting quietly on the couch after rushing around cleaning and putting together my Snoopy on a mailbox decoration, which is one of my favorites, but one of the screws for the bottom is missing and I’d asked Kevin if he’d find a screw so I could put it up, but he’s out buying a last-minute gift for somebody that I asked him to pick up, so I improvised with a sturdy twist-tie.

I also had to do a whole lot of fiddling with the lights on it because they were a tangled mess and I had to keep plugging it in so that the mailbox door would go down so I could arrange the lights, and I’m very happy that it’s up and lit right now, although I’m a little bit sure that if a cat rubs up against it, it’ll come crashing down. But fingers crossed…

Here it is, along with the tree plus some of my collection of waterfowl and bird figurines.

Meanwhile, here’s more from November. One afternoon I kept taking pictures of the white pelicans who were still around and got a good shot of a goose in flight.

I love it when Lovey perches on top of the fence outside, and here, Sweetie is trying to pretend that she doesn’t exist. Lovey is always harassing Sweetie.

This big hibiscus hasn’t bloomed in years; when he was here once, randy asked if it was a big weed. But suddenly in November it started blooming, and when I finally brought inside it has kept it up. Nice.

In early November, Mom and I were going to go for a boat ride but the water was so low that we couldn’t get the boat off the lift. Instead I decided to light a fire. Now, Kevin is the fire-builder in the family; he loves doing it, he’s an expert from his Boy Scout days, and why have i never acquired the skill? Maybe I learned once but I forgot. T

here was a lighter down by the fire pit and I tried and tried to get the many dead leaves to burn but I achieved nothing. I finally called Kevin, who came down and immediately had a cheery blaze going. What a guy! I must try again, because he’s given me some pointers…

As I ran by a field one day, this deer was watching. I managed to get his shot of him.

I’d hoped this would be it for November photos but now I’m going to try to take a little nap because I have to give one massage and then continue with trying to cross stuff off my list. I probably won’t fall asleep but it’ll be nice to lie down quietly.

I hope you’re doing well; warm weather is approaching around here so that’s awesome and maybe we’ll try a bundled-up boat ride after we get through Xmas.

Ok then,

Mrs. Merry Hughes.
