Wales 2015
Well, technically this is “England, Wales, Ireland, and back to Wales,” but that’s a little wordy. Most of our trip to Wales in August 2015 was, indeed, spent in Wales. Except for the 15 nights spent somewhere on the Atlantic, crossing over and back on the Queen Mary 2. Plus another two nights getting from Chicago to NYC on the train. This trip was completely airplane-free, so it took a while to get there and back. Kevin and I were gone for five weeks, the longest trip we’ve ever taken together. The main focus of our journey was a self-guided walking tour along a very small section of the 186-mile long Wales Coast Path. We walked a portion of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

finally, we began our Wales Walk! it was supposed to be 11 or 12 miles, around the peninsula in Dale, and then up the coast a bit to the little town of Marloes, where we'd spend the night on Wednesday. our two suitcases had to be downstairs and ready to go by 9:00,...
a short video from tuesday, august 11th – the trip from southampton to dale
here's a little video of our car ride to dale, and our lovely room at the Allenbrook b&B. editing the video, i noticed that when we were "20 minutes" outside of Dale, there was still a middle line down the road, plus lines on either side. it took way more than...

Final day of crossing the ocean – Monday, August 10th

Sunday, August 9th – our 5th day at sea…
...as we got closer and closer to southampton! still pretty far out. this was always my favorite channel on the TV, because it listed the temperature outside, the water temperature, all the weather stuff, plus it pinpointed where we were out in the middle of the...
Wales day 8, still sailing the ocean blue…
another busy day at sea! saturday, august 8th. we got up so late, at 9:30, because they set the clocks ahead for the third time. we went to the very interesting 3rd lecture about the magna carta in the morning, and then, LUNCH! i loved having a delicious salad...
Wales Aug. 6th & 7th, at sea
Thursday the 6th and friday the 7th of August, we were pretty busy at sea. looking at my pictures, though, it's so much all about the food. well, one reason, like i've mentioned, is because amy wanted to see photos of food! also, there were many...
Wales, day 5: sailing across the ocean on the QM2
our first full day at sea, which was wednesday, august 5th. it wasn't a day that was all about food, but i realize that most of these photos are, indeed, all about the food...i'm trying to not post so many photos of our crossing because i want to get to the beautiful...
Video of setting sail on the QM 2 on Kevin’s Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEVIN! wales, August 4th, day 4…setting sail!
