after we left St. David’s Cathedral in the morning, we walked over to the mediaval bishop’s palace ruins next door. it had started to get a bit busy over at the cathedral, but not so many folks at the ruins.
it was impressive, and we had a good time tromping all around the place.

there were plenty of narrow stairs to climb up and down, and this cellar was freezing on a hot day.

here’s the link to the official website; there’s not a huge amount of information, but it’s interesting that it says this grand pile is a testament to the incredible wealth of medieval men of religion.

we spent a couple hours there, and were happy to walk back to our hotel. many dogs!

we stopped by a little museum and this very very old celtc stone was there.

whew. back in our room, we brewed up some tea and coffee and enjoyed watching the throngs of people passing by.

we said we were glad for a day off of walking, but after about an hour, we decided to head back to the coast path one last time…it’s hard to believe that it went so quickly, such a short time of walking!
but even though our official hike was over, there was still a fair amount of walking in store for us…
ok then,
mrs. wishing i could go to wales every year hughes.
