Happy Halloween!

Gee, I took so very many photos in August. Enough already, as the leaves are already turning colors and falling off the trees and November starts tomorrow.

But what about the kitties? It’s mostly been about the State Fair, I feel.

Spot and Lemon Drop continue to be reasonably happy in the attached garage, except that if I’m sitting out there with them and Spot jumps off my lap and curls up somewhere else, he starts immediately MEOWING in such an agonized manner when I leave the premises. That crazy cat has the loudest meow you’d ever hear.

Riley, so darling inside the fence. He always comes up to the gate to greet me when I walk up from the lake, and invariably flings himself down and rolls around.

The newest addition to our garage kitty haven. I saw this fabulous peacock in a little store in Taylorville and had to have it. I ran out of space on most of the walls in the house a while ago, but realized this would be the perfect place for it.

Moon. Never disappoints.

I feel there haven’t been many photos of Lester for a while now. Here he is on the lovely new chair I bought for the screened porch. He heartily approves.

Sometimes I worry about Les Paul because he’s now about 14, getting up there in cat years. He’s losing weight, even though we give him a weight-gaining supplement every day and he seems to be pretty happy to eat quite a bit. But he periodically tears around the house like a maniac and is always eager to play with a piece of yarn or anything at all, really.

Sweetie, enjoying her cat fur pillow on the screened porch.

Kevin had this floating dock installed. It attaches to our small dock and makes it easy to launch a kayak or a paddle board or the Sunfish sailboats. You just walk to the end and your weight makes it lower. Hmm, I know that I went on the paddle board once and the dock did, indeed, make it super easy to do so, but I can’t say that it was used at all besides that one time. Next year…

August 25th – I feel like this is the only time Kevin and I went out on his sailboat over the summer? I know he went out at least a couple times by himself. We were going to go out in September and October, but now the sailboat is out of the water. Hmm, why didn’t we go out? Probably not enough wind, or maybe wen there was wind it was too hot? Of course I can’t remember as far back as September.

Whew.

Ok then,

Mrs. Halloween Hughes.
