here are more pictures i took a couple of days ago, an historic getting up to see the sunrise day.  i wasn’t able to capture the sky when i first woke up; there were big fluffy pink clouds all across the sky, and it was truly a sight.  at least i got some a few minutes later.  maybe i need to keep the camera next to the bed, in case i ever get up before the sun rises and the sky looks magical.

odds are, though, that this will never happen again.

and here’s me, in the fabulous new jammies and boot slippers that randy got me.  i am wearing the jammies RIGHT NOW, as a matter of fact, and i would be in my jammies ALL DAY LONG today, but unfortunately, i have to go out for a little while.

mollie is behind me, i’m sure guarding her bone from the rawhide-crazy kitties.

this is actually me right now, drinking tea from this exact mug, that i got last summer at the fort de chartres rendezvous, when it was one million degrees outside and i had poison all up my inner thighs.  as, such a pleasant memory, but at least i have this great mug.

and here’s my painting project, which is happily over.  see all the dumb blue tape around the window panes?  blue taping is the worst, in terms of time-consumingness.

i SMOOSHED the paint roller into all those damn ridges in the wood, which was exhausting and a real pain.

i did this section the second day, and instead of smooshing the roller, i painted each ridge with my brush, which was time-consuming but not as exhausting, plus it worked better.  blue-taping the stair carpeting was more effective than i thought it’d be.  there at the bottom of the stairs you can just see the tip of the basement horrible mess.

at least i’m pretty sure i’ll never have to actually paint the basement.  i am rarely down there, but of course it would be good to be in this basement room to CLEAN IT UP.  but really, kevin had done a good job of getting rid of the clutter; maybe the problem now is all the tubs of xmas stuff which hasn’t been put back into yet another cluttered section of the basement.

this is the basement bathroom, which was the lone bathroom in the house when my mom grew up here.  that door certainly needs painting…maybe kevin will do it.  i’m not holding my breath on that one, but it really doesn’t matter to me since i rarely go in there.

and now, ON TO 2012!  as i said, i have to go out for a while, but am pleased that then i get to spend the rest of this very blustery, cold day INSIDE.

unless mollie demands a walk later, which she will probably do.

ok then, HAPPY NEW YEAR.
