i’ve been sitting here on the screened porch since i got up, about eight o’clock. i went outside a few times to check on the pontoon boat progress…which is going very well, by the way.
but now i’m very slighly alarmed that it’s already almost two in the afternoon. i’ve been reading. an actual book, with pages.
i do have a few photos. here’s one i took of aunt sandy and mom when we went to visit kevin at his encampment at lincoln’s home last weekend. sandy said she felt like it was going to the zoo, because we stood in front of the fence watching the activities.

a kid who kevin knew from fencing has joined the 114th. his name is matt, and matt’s grandfather took a few photos of the regiment.

kevin is there on the far left, the only guy standing at attention, i might add. but then again he’s the only one who actually showed up the night before to camp out, so i guess that should be expected.

that’s matt over there on the far right.

they’re shooting – not real bullets, of course.
ok, now i feel like i’ve accomplished something today.
whew.
all right then,
saturday grace.

just for informational purposes only – in the last photo from our camping trip to the Lincoln Home, the BIG puff of smoke is mine! I took my smoothbore Springfield musket for the weekend so Matt could use my “regular” rifle-musket Springfield. The smoothbore prefers a bit more powder and rewards me with a bit more smoke!! 🙂
thanks goodness you got to blow more smoke!
