riley.
the cat, that is.
we have a new cat! his name is Riley.
we didn’t expect to get another cat, after chester’s demise in january.
but sometimes things just happen…
he’s seven months old, we think, and he’s soft and sweet…we got him on monday afternoon, and right now, friday night, we haven’t had any inter-kitty issues. a slight amount of hissing, but that’s pretty much over…
here he is on monday afternoon, as i sat with him out on the screened porch.
darling, unique, Riley.

my friend jill brought him over in this cage, which we kept him in for…not very long. but now he loves it there; he’s sleeping happily in it right now. door wide open.

monday night i introduced him to the round a round, which he liked, but he wanted to sit on it…

and after chasing the ball just a bit, he konked right out on top of it. he’d had a rough few days, including being taken to animal control in some other county, getting neutered, shots, etc, and then rescued, and then attacked by a very large dog who could have easily chomped him in two. but by some miracle he’s just fine. he had to spend all weekend at a vet’s office, which i’m sure is part of the reason why he’d had enough right then and needed to get some zzzzs.

tuesday, he was comfortable enough to sleep on the steps going to the basement.

by thursday he and les were chilling out on the back deck.

last night they both sat on perches to watch the raccoon show outside.

today les gave him a bath! winnie isn’t quite so enthused, because he’s 16 and for the last six or seven years he was traumatized by chester, but i have high hopes that eventually winnie will mellow way down about the situation.
lots going on around here.
ok then,
mrs. friday night hughes.
