Kevin’s birthday was yesterday, August 4th, and a good time was had by all. We started out with a kayak (first time this year for me) over to Long Bay. Delightful! This is the end of Long Bay.

The big fluffy tree on the right is a Cypress. Earlier in the year when Kevin was at Oak Ridge Cemetery practicing for the Lincoln’s Tomb ceremony, a guy who works there gave him a few small starts of trees, including a few Cypresses. Kevin planted them and now they’re about a foot high. I hope we’ll still be alive when they grow up to be tall. But it might take a while…we’ll see…

Here’s the view as we were heading out of the end of the bay.

When we are kayaking it makes me realize how much I enjoy it. Must do that more before it gets cold. When we got back I jumped in the water, and ditto all that for jumping in the water. The other day I jumped in the water after working in the yard in my long pants, and it was funny to swim around in the pants never done that before. I weighed a whole lot when getting out that time.

Later in the day we celebrated Kevin’s birthday with dinner at Abe’s. Randy and I had gone over earlier and decorated, so it was very festive indeed.

Happy birthday, sweet fella!

Ok then,

Mrs. Wednesday Hughes.
