when i got up this morning, here’s the photo that was on my phone.

it was from bev, of course, although i’ve never received a photo from bev and didn’t know she ever sent them.
her brand of leftover container is TakeAlongs, although, as i previously stated, the one she left here and ended up on amy’s counter wasn’t a TakeAlong at all.
although TakeAlongs, according to the photo, are rubbermaid products, and that leftover WAS rubbermaid…but no, if you look at that other photo, the missing container wasn’t a special TakeAlongs style, it was merely Rubbermaid.
i’m glad we’ve clarified all of that. now we can focus on the more looming and larger issues of the day.
like watering the flowers and the poor ferns – three ferns in the back yard continue to wilt and look sad even though it mounded a huge gob of mulch on top of the already-replenished mulch, and i water them twice a day. even though it’s very shady in the back yard, there’s enough sun on them to cause them to burn up. i will have to re-plant them in the fall.
meanwhile, the damn japanese beetles are out in full force, and kevin has been taking great delight in shaking them off the flowers and drowning them in a big bucket of water with some cleaner in it.
amy said that the beetles will be here for six weeks and we need to mentally prepare for them ravaging and destroying all our lovely flowers, but we are well-equipped and prepared for battle.
speaking of battle, yesterday we saw a trailer for “abraham lincoln: vampire hunter,” and this just makes me laugh. after it’s a huge success, i’m sure it will be followed by “george washington: werewolf killer,” thomas jefferson: warlock slayer,” and “harry truman: zombie stalker.”
i must get back to watering, which mostly consists of dragging the hose around and attaching the sprinkler, turning it on and getting totally drenched as i try to perfect the stream and it’s never quite right.
ok then,
mrs. thursday hughes.
