the middle of the night.  in terms of tiredness.  my cup of lapsang souchong has had no effect on me so far.

i was sitting here on the couch watching the news, which is all about the HUGE HURRICANE which is going to hit and cause much pandemonium everywhere, with three feet of water expected to flood manhattan, so subways would have to shut down and maybe everybody will get to stay home from work tomorrow.

but they just wouldn’t shut up about the storm, so i changed the channel to sesame street, where elmo was first counting avocados because he was going to make guacamole.  he and a disembodied nose added up the seven avocados in each tree, which didn’t actually look like avocado trees, although actually i can’t ever think of seeing an avocado tree, just an avocado plant that i must have grown many many years ago.

it was a total of 14 avocados, which seemed like a whole lot for guacamole; when i use five avocados because i want there to be enough, there’s always some left over.

then they had to add THREE SPOONS of onion, no more, and the onion looked like red potatoes.  first elmo just randomly added some onion, but then he got in trouble and the mayan ruins where he was adding the onion looked like it was going to blow up, but then the velvet curtain, whose name was velvet, reminded him about the three spoons, so he added the three spoons of onion/potato, and then the bowl of (unpeeled) avocados and onion magicallly transformed into a big dish of guacamole.

i always add tomatoes and tobasco.

they took the bowl to the goddess of Nacho Picchu, who loved the guacamole and they sang a song about it.  the end.

i didn’t stay out that late last night, but i realized that i usually don’t even go out at all anymore.  we dressed up and danced and theoretically i will put up the funny pictures later this afternoon.

right now i only have 10 minutes to get red for our EXERCISE MARATHON this morning; 45 minutes of weightlifting class perched atop stability balls, 45 minutes of zumba, then we wrap it up with 30 minutes of zumba toning, which is zumba with shaker things, and i will be the one in the back of the class shuffling slowly around, counting down the 30 minutes.

this has been my state on sunday mornings after getting more sleep and not going out, so today should be interesting.  amy has suggested that i take my swim suit and go sit in the hot tub instead of doing the toning, which sounds kind of good in theory, but it would involve finding the suit, putting together a bag of clothes, etc, and now i only have 9 minutes to get ready, grab something to eat, and stagger over to amy’s house.

right now she already looks glamorous plus has to smile and be all awake and alert and everything for two hours.  all i really have to do is drive us there.

ok then, i hope your sunday is good,

mrs. early morning hughes.
