Mom and I ventured down to sunny Florida last week and of course I took a million and one photos, mostly of the sunset on the beach and birds on the beach and the waves and all. Plus photos on MOM’S HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and it was awesome to celebrate in a warm locale with all the flowers and palm trees and green grass.

But first, here’s a few pictures, mostly cats again. I just penned a lengthy post about our making the decision to give Pumpkin to Mom but then looked back at older posts and realized I’d already written all about it. Memory, shrinking alarmingly every single day.

Here’s a good example of my memory loss – I was talking to Bev the other day and she said she was going to have to see a periodontist and my mind went into crazy overdrive – I couldn’t for the life of me remember what a periodontist did. Periodontist? Periodontist! What did a periodontist do??? I’d just been to see my electrophysiologist that afternoon and had been furiously thinking about heart-related things, but that is no excuse for forgetting.

Crazy crazy crazy especially because I have a periodontist of my own.. I finally broke down and asked Bev what a periodontist did and she told me and it just so happened that she was going to see my very own periodontist. Geez. Memory shrinking so rapidly. There was one other incident along the same lines but now I can’t remember what that was…I guess I should try to accept and make peace and all of that.

Anyway, This is the best photos ever – Pumpkin and Mom.

Sweetie, also so darling and wanting to be petted but only for a while because then she snaps at me. But while I’m petting her she rolls on her back and purrs.

Lemon Drop, who I captured playing with a catnip panda we got her for Christmas. I’d never seen that before. It’s nice that she doesn’t spend all her time in the garage just sleeping. They both do go in and out and in and out the cat door a millions times a day, but that’s not a lot of exercise. Kevin has bought another section of fencing to expand their outside territory and soon the outside yard will be a giant kitty playground for them. Kevin refers to it as a “prison yard” but I prefer to think of it as a playground.

Pumpkin at Mom’s, in the funny window with no glass that separates Mom’s laundry room and the back living room. Mom’s prior cat, Hobbs, also liked to jump through the window. It’s a cat thing.

I’m suddenly realizing that these are mostly never-before-seen photos. One night Lester for some reason decided to jump into one of the corner cabinets. The thing is that here is absolutely no room for him to squeeze in there, but of course he did. We finally coerced him into stepping out.

And I don’t know how I managed to get a shot of Lovey; she always flees the area when I’m around. I keep thinking that I need to make it a goal to befriend her, but then other things come up…

I’m sure I’ve posed this before, Lester in the Shutterfly box that the calendars arrived in. The box is permanently situated in the middle of the bed, very convenient for all. Riley content to curl up next to him.

As far as I recall (which, of course doesn’t mean much), I’ve never witnessed Riley in the box. He a very big cat to be in there but of course that didn’t stop him.

Kitty nirvana. Maybe he doesn’t lie in the box because Lester is usually there.

Darling Pumpkin, stretched out on Mom’s bed. He’s just so incredibly happy there, with the run of the house and a human who pets and feed him and no other evil cats anywhere.

Lemon Drop is getting more and more tame. Here she was content to lie on my lap and let me pet her under her chin.

Now I’m getting ready to plow through the four million sunset plus more photos from Florida and attempt to whittle them down to just a few…the sun is shining his morning, always a good thing.

Ok then,

Mrs. March Hughes.
