Wales 2015
Well, technically this is “England, Wales, Ireland, and back to Wales,” but that’s a little wordy. Most of our trip to Wales in August 2015 was, indeed, spent in Wales. Except for the 15 nights spent somewhere on the Atlantic, crossing over and back on the Queen Mary 2. Plus another two nights getting from Chicago to NYC on the train. This trip was completely airplane-free, so it took a while to get there and back. Kevin and I were gone for five weeks, the longest trip we’ve ever taken together. The main focus of our journey was a self-guided walking tour along a very small section of the 186-mile long Wales Coast Path. We walked a portion of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

Sailing from Wales to Ireland, Tuesday, August 18th
once i came back inside on the Irish Ferry, there was a four-hour ride ahead of us, so i decided to run all around looking at things. it's funny, because it was a large ship, but nothing like the grand Queen Mary 2. This is an historic moment, because kevin is...
Tuesday, August 18th – lots of travel, ending up in Ireland
we had to get up early to catch the bus to get back to our b&b in Marloes where we'd left the car. but first - a delicious breakfast at our lovely Coach House B&B. eggs benedict with spinach instead of ham. dang, i need to review on trip advisor all the...
Monday, August 17th, a brief clip of St. David’s, and then hiking the Pembrokeshire Path north, including Coasteering

the last bit of our stay at st. david’s on monday, august 17th
after touristing all around st. david's, and resting a bit in our nice room, we decided that we'd take a hike. this was our last chance to go on the pembrokeshire coast path, and even though we'd looked forward to not hiking, by the afternoon we really wanted to get...
continuing with monday, august 17th – ruins of the bishop’s palace
after we left St. David's Cathedral in the morning, we walked over to the mediaval bishop's palace ruins next door. it had started to get a bit busy over at the cathedral, but not so many folks at the ruins. it was impressive, and we had a good time tromping all...
St. David’s! Monday, August 17th, touring around like tourists
we were looking forward to a day of not hiking on the coast path; instead, we got up and headed over to St. David's Cathedral, hoping to beat the crowds. first, a hearty breakfast of poached eggs on toast. mmm, it was a tasty start to the day. we walked over to St....

we made it to solva, yaaaay for that! we made pretty good time, and next time i swear i WILL NOT WORRY SO MUCH about not making it! in the description of the hotel in solva, it said that there was a good restaurant there, and we should make a reservation if we...
saturday, august 15th, as we continue our hike from little haven to solva
we were a little tired after our hike across the sands at newgale sands, and the path ahead of us went up, up, up. when we got to the top, the view was, of course, beautful. and then down, on the conveniently-placed stone steps. what if it'd been raining? i wouldn't...
