today, the first day of april, it’s supposed to be in the 80s.  mollie and i must go running very, very soon before it gets too hot.  ridiculous.  tomorrow it might reach 89, and we’ll have to turn on the air conditioning because i have to give massages.

i’ve been looking at all the photos from march that i haven’t posted yet and there are a lot of them, so we’ll just stay here in march for a day or two til that gets done.

it’s so lovely and peaceful and quiet out here on the porch, i could spend the day here.  but if i did have the day to myself, i’d probably do a bunch of yard work.   instead, it’s back to the packing and moving, packing and moving…

st. patrick’s day.

soon randy will have a costume for each and every holiday.  maybe when he finally retires, he can dress up for all the holidays and entertain somewhere.  somehow we can combine this with our party-planning business that we really should start.

we launched the boat on wednesday, but it wasn’t entirely successful.  we got the motor fixed yet again and it took less than a week, but when i started out, it immediately died.  it was a reallly windy day and we were heading for the rocks and i was pretty sure all was lost, but somehow i got it started again.

i’d planned on taking a picture or two while mollie and i made our maiden voyage, but instead i was fighting to keep the boat going.  it died when we were smack dab out in the middle of the lake.  i wondered if the oar was in the boat, but doubted that i could oar us to shore.  the wind would have blown us clear to the opposite side.  i also thought about jumping in the water and pulling, but of course i’d have frozen to death plus i realized kevin hadn’t put any rope in the boat.

luckily i managed to get it started again and safely back to the dock.  we haven’t had time to go out again, so we’re not sure if it’s going to be saleable or not.  time for a new boat!

kevin stopped at farm and fleet the other day and saw all these cute little chicks.  we talk about raising some laying hens, but it won’t happen this year.  it would take a lot to keep them alive, what with the many many animals around here who would love a tasty chick snack.

there are many other photos but i only have time now for this one – last night when i came to bed, winnie was nestled on top of kevin’s arm.  sometimes winnie is lying on kevin’s back, and i don’t know how kevin can sleep with this hefty guy lying all over him.  but they were soooooo cute…

and now we run and then pack, another fun and excitement-filled day.

ok then,

g.h.
