i think i name the posts by the day of the week in order to remember what day it is. it’s especially confusing this week because monday was a holiday, and on sunday we went up to northern illinois to visit kevin’s family and got back on monday, which felt like sunday.
in order to start posting videos of our trip to wales, i finally updated my pinnacle movie-editing software – my version was version 11, and they’re up to version 19 now.
hmm, there seems to be a trend with me waiting beyond forever to update things, computer-wise. or really, if i think about it, most-things-wise, too. for example, there’s this pair of of old running shoes that i’ve been wearing to amy’s cardio jam classes, and one shoe had a hole near the toe, and the hole got bigger and bigger, and then the other shoe got a hole and finally, after much too long looking like a homeless person dancing all around in the class, i threw that pair of shoes away and traded them out for another pair of older shoes.
i could go crazy and buy a nice, shiny, colorful and fancy pair of shoes for the class; most people in class do have colorful and fancy pairs, but i just don’t quite see the point.
anyway, this new version of pinnacle seems to be good except i don’t exactly know how to perform all the functions, and there’s no physical guide, only a ridiculously huge online guide, but if i print out a page in order to read it over and over, it prints one tiny page per big page of paper. it’s 445 pages long, and i’m certainly not going to waste that much actual paper to print them all out, so for now i’m doing my best to figure stuff out.
in one second i’m going to post the first video, which is relatively short, just one day, less than 3 minutes of footage. i spent too much time trying to get rid of the huge wind sound. i finally found the button that says REMOVE WIND, and i clicked that – but i can’t tell that it really actually removed any of the wind. so anyway, it’s not a perfect video, but at least i have finally managed to accomplish that and get closer and closer to posting my beautiful PHOTOS OF THE COAST OF WALES.
meanwhile…there’s a frost warning both saturday and sunday mornings – i heard about it yesterday afternoon, and immediately started trying to clean up the hot tub room in order to accommodate the vast of amount of flowers and plants that i want to over-winter. i decided this summer that i’m not going to try to save all of them, that i don’t need to – and i don’t know why exactly, but i find it difficult to just let them freeze to death out there.
i even want to save my stupid last remaining spike plant – when i got it maybe three years ago, it was about 6 inches high, and then it grew and grew and now it’s in a huge pot on the ground and about three feet high and there’s a big new growth coming out of the bottom. the second spike plant froze last winter, and the third one was filled with all those terrible yellow jackets that viciously attacked me and i got more than a hundred stings!
bottom line, i don’t even have time this morning for typing this right now because i need to get a crackin – i’m so overwhelmed by the prospect that i don’t even know where to begin, but maybe i’ll start with transferring some of the flowers in the window boxes to regular pots. and maybe when i run out of pots, i’ll just be done with it.
plus there are the 18 palms that amy coerced me into buying – when i got them, she said “at least you can have them for several months,” but of course i’m now attached to them and don’t want them to die. i’m hoping that at least half can go down in the basement, which isn’t as many steps as putting them upstairs.
too much typing, not enough digging around in the soil!
i hope your wednesday, if that is indeed the day of the week for sure, is a good one.
ok then,
mrs. busy october hughes.
