i thought the summer just whooshed past, i wasn’t sure where it went, it was such a flurry of moving and unpacking and looking for things…
but now it’s officially fall and things seem to continue on like this.
soon it will be christmas.
it’s a little hard to think of christmas right now since it’s 81 degress outside. a lovely day.
i’m not posting any articles about the election here today. i try not to think about the whole thing. i keep getting those endless requests for donations, and i keep sending in more money. theoretically i’ll be getting a vast quantity of obama stickers any day now, plus a new t-shirt. maybe i’ll put on the t-shirt and plaster it and my whole body with stickers and go marching around downtown. that would be a meaningful effort, wouldn’t it?
i can’t believe they’re having the debate on friday night. i feel that i have to watch it. i guess i could wait and watch some or all of it on youtube, but then i probably wouldn’t do that. but friday night, what a lousy night for a debate.
my friend kelly went shoe-shopping on sunday. black heels. a long time ago kelly and i lived in LA and i had to go shopping with her. i thought at the time it would be fun, until we went to every single shoe store in the very big mall and she tried on every single pair of black flats that anybody had for sale.
they were pretty much the same, the countless black flats. but kelly kept going, kept trying on more and more plain black flats. i can’t recall if she ended up buying any of them, but i feel that she didn’t. did she go around barefoot? is that why she had to go buy a pair of black heels, because she’s starting a new job and doesn’t want to show up barefoot the first day?
that would probably be a bad first impression.
unless she got a job crushing grapes.
but i don’t think that’s part of her job description.
i’m going to see kelly in a few weeks, when kevin and i go to DC for a wedding.
hopefully she’ll have found the perfect pair of shoes by then.
