i was about to type in “tuesday” as the title and realized that it’s already wednesday. the week is rushing past.
lots of gosling out in the yard the other day. they’re growing up fast, and soon will be moving on.

all these pictures are the final may photos, and i took these flower pictures because i’m happy with the way the flowers on the deck look. but now i realize that they’re all much bigger already.

the snapdragons, which i’ve never planted before, are going quite crazy.

i love these pansies; i bought them on sale, 79 cents for six of them because they were dried and looked terrible. they’re thriving now.

amy took this picture of mollie the other day when she stopped by the duplex. to me it looks like she’s saying LET ME OUT OF HERE! but maybe she’s just enjoying watching the excitement in the neighborhood. since it’s a cul de sac, though, there’s not a lot of activity on the street.

fugitive kitty on the back porch.

they spent the entire day in the back yard yesterday, after being sequestered all weekend when we were gone.

and finally…bev’s rocks.
bev is one of the hardest-working people i know. she always has many projects and somehow she survives on only a few hours of sleep a night.
one if here more ambitious projects is this, her rocks. she has been digging them up from the beds all around the perimeter of her house, and then…washing them.
yes.
last night i called her to ask if it was OK if i posted the picture i took of her rocks, and i think she said yes, but she said, “I don’t WASH them!” but she digs them up and swishes them around in a bucket, and i think it contains soapy water. i could be wrong, but i know that cleaning of the rocks is involved. they’re lying in this neat pile on the side of her driveway, and she’s going to put some new groundcover on the beds and then set the freshly-cleaned rocks on top.
industrious.
determined.
very strong.
my friend bev.

(I’m not sure if these are the dirty or the clean rocks…they look pretty clean to me, but my cleanliness standards are lower than hers).
i have to go do a bunch of work now.
ok then,
mrs. hughes.

I wish there was a ‘like’ button on this entry….love the goslings….your flowers are so beautiful…and, Bev…what can I say!?! Thanks for making my day a little brighter!
