i look forward to getting up in the morning and sitting down drinking my tea and looking out at the birds while reading the comics online.
but this morning i got up and there were valentine packages on the dining room table, so i said LET’S OPEN OUR GIFTS NOW! and kevin said, sure, and i said BUT I HAVE TO WRAP MINE FIRST so then i had to scurry around finding wrapping paper and tape and scissors, and then i had to attempt to think of something both sweet and clever to write on the card and since i’d just gotten up it wasn’t so much in either respect. i decided to write down love phrases from different songs and i started out with YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE, a song that will unfortunately always be imbedded in my brain because of the number of times they used to play it on the radio when i was little; obviously the brain-washing did the trick because that’s the first line i thought of out of all the love songs in the worlds of which there must be a few hundred bazillion.
i thought of a few more lines of songs, more or less lame than that particular song, and tried to make my penmanship legible enough so kevin could actually read what i wrote, and then i had to do a lot of wrapping and i hadn’t even had one sip of tea yet.
here’s how they looked. not bad for first thing in the morning.

but then i noticed that there was some weird brown spot just off center on the picture. i tried taking a closeup of the card, and this is what it looked like.

how annoying. i think the camera is now broken. last night i tried to take a picture out the window of the raccoon and i stupidly used the flash and i think it burned a hole in something in the camera. very, very annoying.
kevin gave me this funny magnet.

i gave him a yoda dashboard ornament that says about 12 or so different things when you press the button. now that i know that he loves star wars so much that he saw it 119 times in the theater, i never have to worry about what to get him again.

he bought me a relatively small box of chocolate, and i’ve only eaten ONE yet today which is actually kind of a miracle. he also got me this huge bottle of wine plus this great pool cue. my name is on the end of it! very very fancy.

and as you can see, i do look like a supermodel first thing in the morning.
yesterday he also gave me a lovely vase of flowers and i took a picture but i’ve very annoyed about the big brown smudge in the middle so maybe i’ll wait till we get a new camera to take a good photo. so we’d better do it fast, before the flowers die!
tonight i’m excited because we’re ordering a TACO PIZZA from papa john’s! what more could a person ask for on valentine’s day?
ok then,
valentine grace.
