no time for posting anything today. too busy painting painting painting. things are a little better now. there’s a corner of the living room that is fit to live in, isn’t covered with any kind of patching dust.
christine CALLED ME this morning, which is always an unexpected surprise. craig, who has the website called “krinkle,” over the on the right, e-mailed her and told her about the EVIL SPAM. all she had to do was activate something on my website, and then NO MORE SPAM. how about that? even MORE awesome than things were last night.
this is good, to balance out the painting hell that i’m trapped in during the day.
painting the ceiling is VERY VERY BAD for my back. besides the fact that it’s a horrible horrible “popcorn” style ceiling which means that you should NEVER EVER PAINT IT. dad warned me about this. but we had to paint the kitchen ceiling because there’s a place on it that didn’t look right, and i tried to paint that one little bit but then it really stuck out.
the ceiling is done now.
i went to a physical therapist yesterday and he said he doesn’t think the back pain was caused by the bulging discs. i’d wondered about that, because they were described as either “mildly bulging” or “minimally bulging.” which doesn’t sound so bad. he thinks that instead, i just really really strained my back.
SO I PROBABLY SHOULDN’T BE DOING ANY MORE PAINTING.
but it will be done soon.
anyway, i talked to my sister amy’s friend liz, who is a Very Successful Chiropractor, and who believes in all things holistic and natural. she said that i should take two baths with epsom salts each day. i bought some epsom salts and i have to say that it’s hard to sit in a bathtub for 20 minutes at a time. i’ve done it twice now, and am debating about doing it again tonight.
but i looked up epsom salts online, and it is CLEARLY A MIRACLE DRUG. why have epsom salts been so unnoticed and passed over in the search for the PERFECT CURE FOR EVERYTHING?
epsom salts is actual a chemical compound comprised of magnesium and sulfate. it does tons of things for a person, but it’s not just for people – according to Wikipedia, you can add it to crops like potatoes, tomatoes and roses, it can be used to restore some lava lamps damaged by being shaken by exchanging the water and adding drops of a concentrated solution until sustainable buoyancy is reached. It is also recommended for dropsy treatment for fish. AND an “old remedy for diarrhea in adult chickens is 1/2 tsp per bird per day added to their feed.”
from fixing lava lamps to curing chicken diarrhea…
and then there’s the plethora of medicanal uses. these are just a few listed on Wikipedia:
Indications for its use are:
- Hypomagnesemia (low magnesium concentrations in the blood)
- Magnesium sulfate is the first-line antidysrhythmic agent for Torsdes de pointes in cardiac under the 2005 ECC guidelines.
- As a bronchodilator after beta-agonist and anticholinergicagents have been tried, e.g. in severe exacerbations of asthma. In fact, recent studies have revealed that magnesium sulfate can be nebulized to reduce the symptoms of acute asthma (Blitz et al 2005). It is commonly administered via the intravenous route for the management of severe asthma attacks
- Users of Epsom Salts in the gel form have reported significant and lasting reduction of pain associated with fybromyalgia and osteoporisis.
- Intravenous magnesium sulfate may be able to prevent cerebral palsy in preterm babies
- Solutions of sulfate salts such as Epsom salts may be given as first aid for barium poisoning
- Magnesium sulfate paste has been used as an agent for dehydrating (drawing) boils and carbuncles.
- Magnesium sulfate solution has also been shown to be an effective aid in the fight against blemishes and acne when applied directly to problematic areas, usually in poultice form.
- Magnesium sulfate when used through soaking, can soothe muscle pains and help improve rough patches in the skin.
i repeat, WHO KNEW??? Why isn’t EVERYBODY using it to cure EVERYTHING?
tomorrow, photos.
meanwhile RUSH RIGHT OUT AND BUY SOME EPSOM SALTS.
goodnight,
thursday grace.
