we went to see the movie “the queen” last week, and it was quite good. it was only here in spfld for a brief time, but then they brought it back because it was nominated for an oscar, and it’s been here for weeks now.
but here’s my question – did queen elizabeth see it? i’m sure she knows about it, especially since helen mirren was nominated for it. and if she did see it, did she hate it? prince philip would certainly hate it, a lot. but what about the queen herself? i mean, on one hand, it really shows a decent character arc for her, and i came out of it with a better understanding of how bizarre it would be to be queen. not an easy thing to do.
but would she hate it? tony blair saw it, i’m sure, and i know he must have liked it a lot.
we saw “reno 911: miami” last evening and it was great, every bit as funny as the tv show. and they set it up to have one in england next time; i can’t wait. i’m going to sit around and wait for that to come to a theater near me.
at least there’s something to look forward to at the end of march – will ferrell has a new movie coming out, about being a figure skater. the guy from napoleon dynamite is in it too and it looks highly entertaining.
as opposed to the movie “300” which i think is the one about sparta, all killing all the time. oh, and a new die hard movie, the trailer of which didn’t have anything except car explosions, building explosions, a few seconds of car chasing before more car explosions – oh brother.
i have to go be a queen myself right now. walking and sitting.
ok then,
oscar day grace.
