yeah, i realize i’ve put up the april banner already and it’s not quite april yet, but i want to be reminded that SPRING IS HERE, despite the FREEZING COLD TEMPERATURES. yuck, that’s all i have to say.
i took pictures of the daffodils on wednesday, when it was warm and fabulous, because i knew the DAMN COLD WAS COMING BACK. grrrr…
my plan was to NOT GO OUTSIDE AGAIN til it warms up but i realized that was kinda impossible, so i have ventured out a few times but ONLY WHEN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.
the lilac bushes down by the dock are doing really well and maybe we’ll have a bunch of sweet-smelling blossoms this spring. I LOVE LILACS. if i’m not mistaken, these are re-blooming so we can revel in the fabulous smell ALL SUMMER LONG.
i got a new phone, and after having an incident with not getting all my old contacts off the old phone and then not being able to send texts with photos, now I LOVE MY NEW PHONE. my friend pam wrote and said she has an iphone and she loves it, but NO THANKS, i’m happy with a phone that you just use to make calls and send texts and take pictures. i have some issues with the video function, and i know i’m going to have to put the detailed instruction CD into the computer and download all of that, but NOT RIGHT NOW.
i’ve been so very busy screwing around with the phone, plus other things that i didn’t have time to kill ANY zombies until late last night. so LOOK OUT FOR ZOMBIES; the neighborhood won’t be safe til i’ve thoroughly killed a bunch of them.
the funny thing is, whenever i mention this crazy game addiction, people talk about the games they love to play. i actually don’t bring it up much, and i try not to get out too much and actually converse with people, but yesterday Randy and i were at the mall (which was PACKED with people who i was fascinated to watch for a little bit), and we stopped at a store and he made some crack to the saleswomen about my zombie addiction, and both of the women started talking about the kinds of games they loved to play. one of them kept saying “i only play the game (i can’t remember what it’s called) when i’m REALLY IN A BAD MOOD.
she should probably try killing the zombies, cause it’s immensely satisfying except not really relaxing at all.
but somebody’s gotta do it.
last night i was going crazy trying to adjust the alert volume when i get a text. i finally figured it out, and this morning i got a text, and it sounds like a doorbell, and mollie started BARKING LIKE CRAZY, jumping off the couch to go bark at the door. eventually she stopped, but then i got another text and once again with the barking, except this time she kept lying on the couch, but eventually jumped down and went to investigate.
i find this very funny, and i’m thinking that if i get enough texts, maybe it’ll cure mollie of her barking habit. but really, i’m pretty sure that she’ll just jump up and bark more. because she’s mollie and BARKING IS HER JOB, just like keeping the planet safe from INCOMING ZOMBIES is my job.
oh yeah, and one more thing…I’M REALLY STARTING TO GET READY FOR ANOTHER GRACETALK. yes, it has been FOUR AND A HALF YEARS since i did the last one; maybe you haven’t ever heard of them, maybe you never saw them. i did two at a bar downtown, stella blue, which is above sebastian’s restaurant, and i did two at first night. FOUR AND A HALF YEARS AGO. it’s kind of like a comedy show except with long rambling stories instead of jokes, plus i’ve had videos and other funny things mixed in.
my plan is to have this one IN MY BACK YARD. THIS JULY.
i haven’t started writing it yet, and i don’t have things worked out, like where i could sell tickets in advance because i don’t want to post my address up here in case you MIGHT BE A ZOMBIE READING THIS, but i’m sure it’ll all get done.
THIS JULY. GRACETALK #5.
i hope you have a good sunday. i plan on staying inside AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
ok then,
mrs. sunday morning hughes.
p.s. i saw four fishing boats zooming across the water before eight a.m. fishermen are crazy but at least they’re DEFYING THE COLD WEATHER.
i prefer an inside kind of defiance.
