first – kevin’s SHROVE MONDAY dinner was quite tasty, and i am sure this will cause him to start making MANY MANY more delicious dinners.
but right now – we’re getting new floors put in a big part of the first floor of the house. because they are coming to do it first thing tomorrow morning, and what exactly will first thing really be, anyway? we had to get all the furniture and stuff out of the rooms. so now our living room is full of things including the dining room table, which the cats think is a splendid thing and they like to walk all around on it because it’s in a new place.
we weren’t going to put a new floor in the little office room off the living room, but mom asked if we were going to put a floor there and i said no but that got me to thinking – the floor in there is a big mess so why not do it?
the problem with that is the room desperately needs to be painted.
plus it was STUFFED BEYOND THE GILLS with way way way too many things.
it’s all gone now, or at least right now there are still a few things shoved to the middle of the room. yesterday we finished spackling and doing all the pre-painting stuff, and today, painting will commence. as soon as i get off the chair and start.
i had been meaning to organize that awful room this winter anyway, so now i’m forced to, because it just can’t be a huge cluttered mess of messiness anymore.
i will take a few pictures of the room before we paint; i definitely should have taken a picture of the room stuffed with all the stuff. i’m pretty sure there are no photos of the room because why would i have ever wanted to capture any of it?
i think kevin is making a fire in the bedroom fireplace now. maybe he’ll burn some of the loads of crap.
because of the imminent new floor, we finally had to defrost the upright freezer in the kitchen because there was a HUGE block of ice frozen in the bottom shelf, and it kept leaking on the floor and we can’t have that with a nice new floor.
so we did that huge task, and of course got rid of lots of old frozen stuff, but now the leaking is still going on inside the freezer, so we’re going to put it in the attached garage.
but the garage is full of stuff and must be re-organized. before tomorrow morning.
it seems to me that this would be a good time to do that, but if kevin wants to build a nice fire instead, that’s fine with me.
maybe i’ll just avoid the whole thing and sit by the fire today with a good book. mom is coming over eventually to help paint and i’ll just get her to do it all!
just kidding. any minute now i’m going to BURST into action.
oh boy.
i hope your sunday is spent curled up with a good book next to a nice fire.
