MFH and i were walking to baskin robbin’s from my apartment, because we COULD walk there from my place, and we got to macarthur and in the parking lot of that family video there was a man with what looked like a fairly large dog. not a HUGE dog, but a good sized one. bigger than Mollie, who was doggedly walking and walking and walking wherever we went today.

but then MFH said “it looks like a pony.” and then he said “it IS a pony!”

a very very tiny pony. smaller than a great dane. a nice little brown pony with a long tail and fully outfitted with a saddle and all. the man led it through the parking lot and of course a kid rushed up and wanted to pet the pony because there was a PONY IN THE VIDEO STORE PARKING LOT.

we got ice cream and sat across the street at butler elementary school, and pretty soon there was the man, leading the pony through a parking lot, and then they scurried across ash street; actually the pony was definitely trotting. and they kept going, past baskin robbins (what would the workers have done if he’d brought the pony in? would they have given it a free cone? SURELY they would have), past the new restaurant imaginatively called “springfield restaurant” and down the street.

1. WHERE WERE THEY GOING?

2. WHY WAS THE MAN LEADING A PONY DOWN MACARTHUR BLVD???

ok, i grew up here in spfld, i lived here for many many years, i went away for maybe 10 or so, but i’ve been back a while, and i have NEVER EVER seen any ponies AT ALL on macarthur blvd. or walking down any other streets for that matter.

see, you think a place is boring and nothing ever goes on but if you’re PAYING ATTENTION there’s all kinds of stuff, all the time.

pony walking down macarthur blvd.

that is all at almost the end of a very relaxing weekend.

ok then,

may grace.
