i told randy that i’d bring the fascinating photos of kevin’s knees to show him tomorrow. he said “i don’t wanna see them.”
“but they’re not bloody or anything!” i said. they’re actually kind of interesting…
“no. nope. i don’t wanna see ’em.”
but, oh no, what if randy is reading this RIGHT NOW! avert your eyes, avert your eyes!
there were two different tears. here’s the first one.

the doctor used this little tool to shave away at the tear, which looks like a tattered pillow case.

this other tear looks like it’s poking out of something, but this part of meniscus was a torn flap hanging outside of the joint.
apparently.

so with all this shearing off of the meniscus, kevin will have 5% less cushioning than he had. not horrible, but his fencing ability could be impaired. the doctor thinks that he’ll be able to run and do everything again, but he just has to see.
and WHEW, a very busy day. i got home from a busy day of massaging and made coq au vin. now i hope to spend much of the next couple of days sitting around inside staying warm.
ok ok ok,
friday night grace.
