i felt really good about doing such a bang-up job of posting posting posting photos of our trip to florida, and was so very hopeful that that’ll motivate me to get the many, many photos left from our lovely trip to wales LAST SUMMER…

but then life got in the way.

too much happening yesterday, then this morning i had to get up at sixish to take kevin to the doctor to have some major eye surgery.  it all went great, and i’m amazed at how many cars were out and about before seven in the morning, and also amazed at how chipper and put-together with the hairspray and all that the check-in woman was at the hospital.

and then, a flurry of nurses, and his surgery was scheduled by nine, and it all happened to fast and right on schedule that they wheeled him in right before nine.

the surgery – fixing the “pucker” on the right eye, which happened after that eye went bad almost two years ago.  he says it makes thing look bent in the middle out of that eye!  it’s hard to imagine what a lot he’s had to deal with, especially with the left eye going bad two days after our trip to wales.

so the good doctor (a really good one!) had to go in an cut off the scar tissue, but there were some bad blood vessels attached to it so he had to cut them off and cauterize them and also he sucked out all the eye goo and replaced it with something that will then be absorbed and replace naturally with…some other kind of good.  just as good goo from the body.

jeez, no wonder my poor fella was in so much pain and so woozy when we got home.  the surgery was less than an hour i think, and it went really well – the doc didn’t have to do any stitches, and the more i think about it, the more i wonder how anybody could have the stomach and confidence to be a surgeon of any kind.

they put kevin totally under, which he really wanted, and who would ever want to be awake, no matter how twilight-y it was, knowing all the gruesome stuff that took place.  ick.

they gave him really strong drugs, and a huge patch and he’s sleeping now, thank goodness.  tomorrow we go back and they remove the patch and i wonder what it’ll look like?  more photos to follow!

who would want to be a surgeon?  also, who thought up all these surgeries, and who was the first person to get them?  “gee, let’s try some brain surgery,” thought somebody.

yoiks!  also, i had to go to work for a few hours, and when i got back he was busily trying to do all kinds of stuff on his computer, even though the pain is there and he just had major surgery and should have been relaxing – somebody hacked into our amazon account, and things were bad, but he did as much hard sleuthing work as he could.  which was way too much!  but also good.  but also i can’t imagine how he even found out about it.

i’m sure he’ll be much better tomorrow.

that is all for now.

ok then,
