we’re taking the best care of mollie that we can; she’s doing ok, not great, but a little better, but she wants to jump up and bark when people come in, and then she has a relapse, trembling and panting and it’s pretty awful to watch.  so now when people come over we try to hold her and pet her and talk soothingly to her, and then we make whoever it is come over and pet her so she won’t want to jump.

MEANWHILE…i decided, for some reason, to check out the games here on the computer.  there are A MILLION OF THEM, and i can play any of them for free, one time.

on monday afternoon i played part of one game…FOR FIVE HOURS.

FIVE HOURS.  PART OF THE GAME.  i finally had to get up, and kevin took over for a while.  kevin is MUCH BETTER at the games than me.  i think it’s because he has a better brain for them, but maybe it’s because he’s played more than me.

I MUST CEASE AND DESIST.

i can’t ever get to the “end” of a game, because whenever i close the computer, it goes away.  last night i was playing a game set in a haunted house; you had to find things in rooms and ghosts came out and puzzles, etc etc etc.  it took me at least a half hour JUST TO GET IN THE FRONT DOOR, because i could not figure it out.  finally i did, and then i was ensnared.  i told kevin, who was in the other room playing some other video game, LET’S JUST PLAY FOR A HALF HOUR.  after a half hour he came into the living room but HE DIDN’T SAY ANYTHING, so i just kept playing…and playing…and finally i came over and sat on the couch with him so he could help me and then BOOM, it was 11:30 and my eyes were closing.

i kept the computer open last night so i could start in this morning but THANK GOD IT WAS GONE.

but like i said, HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS MORE.

surely there must be some kind of AA-type program we could get ourselves in to.

BUT I’D RATHER STAY HOME AND PLAY THE GAME.

i have many things to do today.  I MUST START IN ON THEM.

it’s supposed to snow tonight, a sickening thought…playing a computer game ALL DAY TOMORROW would be an awesome way to escape winter’s last hurrah…but i have MANY MANY OTHER THINGS i must do.

enough already.

ok then,

mrs. addicted hughes.
