i’ve been sitting here in the chair in the living room, drinking chocolate hazelnut tea which doesn’t really taste like chocolate but it’s still delicious with fat free creamer, although i meant to grab the chai caramel chocolate enchantment tea WITH caffeine because i really need a little of it this morning, reading the paper, continuing to hate our governor, wishing that the funnies would be actually funny sometimes – wouldn’t it me a miracle if one day they were ALL actually funny? – wondering if people will go see the lynard skynard concert on sunday, and at least very happy about annie germann being featured in the IN THE SPOTLIGHT in the paper. annie is talented and lovely and i would like to do some kind of over-the-top production a la tim burton, because that is her dream project, but then i’d have to stage a play or make a movie and right now even the thought of getting dressed seems like too much work.
my mood right now is usual morning surliness with a little extra frustration mixed in. but then i checked my e-mail and a friend, pam, wrote to say that she likes to read what i write. since i usually only get forwarded joke or DIRE WARNING e-mails from my aunt sandy, or random junk mail that i delete, it was certainly nice to get a compliment from a real live person.
i mean, i know that my HUGE CHINESE FOLLOWING is always reading here, checking for more photos of our sustainable garden, but it’s nice to hear from somebody once in a while.
i’m going to have to bitterly disappoint the chinese in a while, though, because we’re about to be in the process of moving.
i guess you can say we’re actually IN the process of moving right now, or at least kevin is; he’s been cleaning out the garage and is about to take the vw thing and the half-renovated pontoon boat away, as part of the total cleaning out of our house. in about three minutes i’ll have to help him.
we bought a house on monday. after getting a call from dad on saturday that THE HOUSE OF HIS DREAMS was finally for sale, we looked at it on sunday (dad had been looking at it for years) and we bought it on monday. it’s a duplex, actually, one of only TWELVE UNITS OF ITS KIND in springfield, very desirable, very well-built, good wood, good fixtures, great construction, dad knows this because he watched them being built.
mom and dad are moving into this fabulous unique and lovely duplex, and then kevin and i are moving into their house.
we have five weeks to take out most of the stuff in our house and clean and paint and fix it up and then we’ll sell it.
that’s the plan.
in my barack obama video i kept saying “change is a comin’,” but all the change is HERE and it’s all about us and the many changes that are taking place.
change is good. somewhat tiring, but well worth the effort.
ok then, i pack.
grace.
