good morning! how is your day going? i realize maybe you won’t be reading this till monday because i think many people read this at work and hopefully you’re NOT WORKING today.
things are going well here. i’m watching the macy’s thanksgiving parade and it looks fairly warm there in NYC. not like that year kevin and i saw it in person. that was in 2006, and it rained and rained and rained and was very cold and i we were all so close together and i remember this person’s umbrella dripping on my neck.
we didn’t last the whole parade because it just became too much. it was neat to be there, even though it was raining.
i already made some orange sweet rolls this morning. the kind in the tube, not homemade. last night i made a mince pie and a sugar-free pumpkin pie, plus mixed together a lot of dinner rolls. that’s about it for my contributions to dinner, which doesn’t seem like much but because i didn’t start all this till last yesterday afternoon, i was pretty tired by last night.
we watched a little bit of “xanadu,” one of the worse movies ever made. do you remember it? did you see any of it? olivia newton-john on roller skates, along with this guy who looked like one of the Bee Gees. Gene Kelly is also in it, which is just wrong – why did he agree to be in such a crappy film? the acting is horrible, the writing is dreadful, it’s such a ridiculously bad movie. and yet we were compelled to keep watching – there were some good songs, and it was kind of funny to watch all that roller skating.
we’ve stopped getting the paper and the only thing i really miss is the comics. but now i don’t miss them because i have two different websites on my igoogle page and can read all my favorite comics plus more, plus i get an e-mail for the other comics that aren’t on the other sites. i like reading the comics every day. but this morning kevin told me he doesn’t read ANY COMICS at all. this seems kind of sad to me.
but hopefully we’ll have a good thanksgiving anyway. somebody really needs to vacuum around here pretty soon. we’re not having the dinner here, but people will be here this afternoon, hanging out till we go next door to eat at amy and jim’s enormous table.
we’re frying two turkeys, and have noticed all kinds of news stories about how frying turkey is VERY VERY DANGEROUS. so hopefully we won’t burn the house down.
ok then,
happy day grace.
