seriously? not sure how that happened. they keep saying it’s gonna be warmer every day, but yesterday when running with mollie it didn’t seem so warm to me. today better be the day – it’s march, already, time for warm weather. let’s get the boat out of the water!
seriously, where has the week gone? have i accomplished anything at all with my life this week? i feel like no, but maybe i did accomplish something wonderful.
well, yes, i did manage to shoot ONE SHOT for my next “gracetalk.” just the one shot for a video, though, plus it probably won’t even be a video that i’ll use in my next show because this video is going to take a lot of work and it might not be ready til the next show after that.
my, how ambitious you sound, mrs. hughes, for somebody who manages to accomplish ALMOST NOTHING.
here’s another shot of the newly-painted bathroom, next to the purple hall. we found out that mollie slips a lot on the new floor, so i ordered some new runner rugs so she won’t slip and i’m excited that they should be here today. of course i seem to have no ability to buy something plain and without a pattern, but these rugs look totally cool. the one for in front of the bathroom has some blue and purple in it, so that should be perfect.

kevin in the former office room on the sunday before the guys started laying the floor. i figured if we started painting on sunday, we could finish it on monday, because they were going to do this room last. there were way too many pictures on the walls, hung too haphazardly, plus too much furniture, and the walls had lots of scuffs all over it.
the floor had been nice, but there was all kinds of glue from the carpet embedded in it, plus a few staples. i did suggest that i could strip it, but kevin said the stuff would kill the animals. there might be something less toxic out there, but i decided it wasn’t worth the trouble to find out because if i did find something, that would take even longer. besides the awful floors, the backs of the doors were really scraped up because of mollie scratching on them whenever we had to put her in that part of the house to keep her from barking nonstop at people who come to the door. we’ve since devised a way to avoid this, with different gates.
the closet in the room,which we’ll now call the music room cause the keyboard is in there. why do we have so many games? well, for one thing, my parents left a bunch of them when they moved out, ones that i thought we’d play, but of course we haven’t and they’re going to be gotten rid of. now that we’ve been getting rid of quite a bit of stuff, i just want to GET RID OF IT ALL!
kevin taught me how to pry out the baseboards, which wasn’t hard at all once i figured how to do it without gouging a big hole in the wall.
i had to climb really high up on the ladder to do the edging. it ended up taking the better part of the day.
i dreaded painting the windows and sills, and got it all taped, but then, luckily i got mom to do it! mom is a really good sport and is always willing to help out, even if it’s a terrible job like painting around the windows.

i was gonna do all the rolling on monday after i got back from weightlifting class, but kevin had already done it! yay for kevin!
here’s a little bit of the floor, after the guys finished it.
i have some photos of the completed rooms, but there are still a few things to be done, organization-wise. we had many, many, many CDs and DVDs and have been going through them all and getting rid of many of them, and i have to put some pictures back up, but NOT AS MANY.
it’s all coming together, and then i think we’ll have to entertain a lot because it’s all so lovely.
meanwhile, i sit here and wait for it to get warmer.
