erica posted her photos on facebook…all 179 of them…and i’ve copied a select few for you to see here, in case you’re not friends with her on facebook and can’t see them.

when i showed all the photos to kevin, he said he wanted to try this walk.  maybe another one.  i am very excited about this, and have been doing a little bit of research into the whole walking thing.  there are, of course, many options for walking.

erica walked from coast to coast in england, from st. bees to robin hood’s bay, 192 miles, in 12 long and arduous days.

this is near the beginning of her trip.  so many of these photos look so much like our trip to scotland, but i guess that makes sense since they’re very close.

these are some friendly cows…later on her journey, she had to walk past some cows who seemed very placid and cow-like, but then they started to chase her so she had to flee from the mad cows and scramble over a big fence.  she ripped the back out of her jeans doing so.  it sounds very exciting and dramatic.  she didn’t stop to take a photo of the mad cows after she’d gotten over the gate, which is probably just as well…they might have become even more enraged at having their pictures taken, and broken down the gate and mauled her.  i think this was also the day of torrential downpour.

she says when she took this picture, she was lost, and she was lost for an hour and a half, but at this point she didn’t know that.  the arched bridge in the distance looks just like one we crossed in scotland, so maybe she slipped into the wrong country for a while.

i like the part that says “many people have done so without incident.”  not incredibly reassuring.

this steam locomotive reminds me of harry potter.

i wonder if she danced for joy when she saw this sign…only two more miles til she reached her destination.

she took this ghost walk in robin hood’s bay, but i forgot to ask her how it was.  erica does ghost walks here in springfield, downtown.  we haven’t seen her doing it yet, i’m sorry to say, but we’ll definitely make it this summer.

she stopped in london for a night or two when she was done walking, and was there for the queen’s jubilee.  she happened to be on this street when throngs of people were stopped.  she waited a bit, and there went prince william!  i believe kate was in the car with him, but you can only barely make him out, and not her at all.
