here’s the new banner, on the actual first day of december…maybe this means i’m going to be all active and accomplishing many things this month…we’ll see.
this is a terrific panorama shot of the little town of Rye, that kevin took. we went to rye with our friends Carol and Alan because i said i wanted to go there because the author E.F. Benson lived and wrote there. carol and alan were so sweet and accomodating, and i WILL get to photos of them this month! i’m about to post the third day of pictures/video, but was slightly disheartened this morning when i was scrolling down the many many many photos we have of the trip, realizing how many of them there are to go.
posting the photos will be a good thing to keep me busy, though, when the HORRIBLE BRUTAL WINTER is suddenly upon us.
i heard from a few people that we’re supposed to have a HORRIBLE BRUTAL WINTER. aunt sandy said she heard it was going to be very very cold but not so snowy, but then the very next day somebody else said that people in chicago will RUE LIVING THERE because the winter is going to be so despicable.
but hmm, maybe that’ll just be up there, and it’ll be warm and mild and lovely here.
i’m not holding my breath.
so basically, the winter is going to be…bad or not so bad. snowy or not so much.
nobody has yet to say “it’s going to be 70 and sunny,” so that’s probably not going to happen.
unless, of course, we pack up the kitties and mollie and HEAD SOUTH FOR THE WINTER.
i fear, though, that the kitties wouldn’t be so keen on a long car ride, plus where would we go?
so hunkering down here, i guess that’s what’s in store for us. les paul and chester haven’t been here in snowy weather, so that should be funny, taking pictures of them out in it. but since they’re probably both about a year old, they’ve seen snow before, right? i wish it was possible to know where they came from and how they survived before meeting us.
maybe, in addition to posting the england photos, i’ll teach them to talk. that should keep us all busy.
ok then,
mrs. december already hughes.
p.s. a couple of weeks ago i went to the dentist and the tooth-cleaning girl said “are you ready for the holidays?” and i WANTED to say, “are you KIDDING me? i haven’t even though about the holidays cause it’s WAY TOO EARLY.” but now it’s not so early, but i’m not entirely in the xmas spirit yet and was thinking of not even putting up any decorations, but maybe i will. we’ll see.
