i wish there was a way to better order the lineup of videos here on my site. hopefully now if you click on it, though, the first cake video will come up, instead of the second one. they both look the same at the beginning, except one says “part one” and the other, “part two.”

it’s beautiful, BEAUTIFUL here again today. perfect weather. wednesday we took a long, totally peaceful boat ride. no hysteria, no trying to push the boat away from the rocks with broken oars. just cruising around the almost-empty lake.

ok, here are gobs of the photos from randy’s HUGE BIRTHDAY PARTY.

first, decorating – it was me and kevin, amy and jim, mom, and lori ann and lori tinsley. jim is hanging a great banner that lori bought that reads HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDY. i’m sure there’s a photo of it somewhere.

we were at the Aqua Club, a great place for a party.

this is one of the photos we had blown up – it’s randy with mary young, in “victor victoria.” i love this picture because they both look so very very funny, especially randy with his mouth like that.

when mary arrived at the party, we thought they should re-create the pose. that’s randy’s birthday mug, which lori bought and had painted the night before the party. lori is VERY enthusiastic about parties, a fine quality in a person.

mary kate and jake, randy and lori ann. her shirt reads “diva witch” – she’s going to be the witch in “into the woods” which opens tonight at muni. she just sent me a photo of her in full witch makeup, which i’m going to post later.

mary kate and their cute daughter stella were in the happy birthday video i made for randy. stella is HYSTERICAL and hysterically funny in it. because the video is 28 minutes long, i have to break it into chunks to put it up here. that probably won’t be happening today.

mary and cynda both wore maxi dresses. i feel that a maxi dress would just be too 70’s for me, personally. at least a couple other women were wearing them, so clearly, they’re very very trendy.

gil opferman with randy, luda and moses. luda was a ballerina, from russia, but i’m pretty sure she’s not one of the russian spies. she’s beautiful and very very tall – taller than kevin! plus she always wears heels.

if i was that beautiful, thin and tall, i would wear a bikini all the time, even in the winter.

margaret boswell and dad. turns out that margaret didn’t get an invitation because it got lost in the mail – this happened to a few other people, including amy and jim. it’s tricky, sending postcard invitations through the mail.

david, kevin, and bill castor. where did my brother get that beautiful gold shirt? he looked very dapper that night. at one point lori ann even managed to drag him out on the dance floor.

linda castor, randy, and john simon. john was part of the group of guys who dressed up like the village people and put on quite a show for randy. i videotaped it and will put it up here very soon. john was the cop – he borrowed kevin’s motorcycle cop shirt and shoulder harness belt thing, and wore amy’s cop hat. really really funny. linda, of course, looks beautiful as always.

i went around and took pictures of every table. i don’t know why david looks so strange and blotchy in this – i guess because he was so close to the camera. that’s bev next to mom.

i guess i don’t know who many of these people are. the beautiful girl on the right is selina, and that’s cory to her right. the couple on the other side…i don’t know. i know randy invited them. i bet their names are…jan and rob? fran and burt? carol and jake? i have no idea.

right in the middle, with the balloon in front of his face, is josh ratz. he has a beard because he is going to be JESUS. he and his lovely model-like wife julie were in the b’day video and they were SO FUNNY. over there on the right is lori ann’s husband larry, who was also in the village people – i think it was his idea. SO FUNNY. across from him is shelley simon, who has two very cute little daughters.

ann and gil, glenn and jennifer. in the video of village people, look for gil with a wild grin on his face. that gil is one of the happiest people i know.

karla joell, mary, who i haven’t seen in such a long time – i love mary, she’s really funny and nice. next to her is loy, then steve jones is at the head of the table. on the other side, cynda, gary and judy.

i took this photo of the crowd, and mom is the only one who notices me doing so. hmm, i guess kevin is also looking my way.

mary, randy, randy’s mom, keith, john, and…i can’t remember her name. a lovely young woman. kate? kathy? no. i can’t remember.

behind the bar is LORI TINSLEY. she belongs to the club, which is why we could have the party there, and she bought lots of decorations for the party, and then she worked behind the bar most of the night. a really REALLY hard-working woman. across from her with his eyes closed is her husband bill. next to them is a very friendly fellow who was also in the village people video, wearing leater. i think in the back there wearing a pink shirt is matt, and i have no idea who the woman next to him is.

crazy gina, who always loves to make a funny face when getting her picture taken. very funny, because she’s so lovely and always making goofy faces.

cynda wanted her boobs squished together so they’d look bigger, and amy and gina were nice enough to oblige.

the cake! it was only slightly harrowing driving it over to the club because it was only two minutes away. kevin did the driving because i couldn’t trust myself.
