there, i spent two more minutes searching online and found the elusive Passtel de Choclo. it’s chilean corn pie, which doesn’t sound quite as glamorous as the chilean words for it. it has creamed corn and raisins and olives in it, which sounds a little bit odd. DON’T TELL RANDY ABOUT IT, because he’s going to the dinner with us and he has very strict rules about mixing fruits with savory thing. like, DON’T PUT FRUIT IN A SALAD. i think he’s also opposed to nuts in salads, but maybe not, all i know is his rules are very strict and he’s very disparaging when you break a rule.
