i’m excited right now because i’m about to get a BONE DENSITY SCREENING. but then the thought struck me that maybe it’s a little pathetic, being so excited about getting a BD screening. but i can’t help it – mom has osteoporosis, and what’s even more shocking is that my brother david has it too, even though he’s only 46 years old! he’s not overweight, and he does exercise, but all he does is swim, which of course doesn’t do anything about making your bones stronger. me, i run, etc, plus i’ve being exercising for many years, plus i love almost all milk products including all cheeses and ice cream and everything calcium-filled that’s made of milk. but still, you never know, so i’m very glad that i’m getting checked.
i went to an actual doctor for a check up a couple months ago, and that, too, was thrilling, except that i found out – and maybe i already mentioned this – that i’m only 5’ 3 3/4″ tall, instead of 5’5″, which i erroneously thought for many many years. i’m not sure how that happened, but that of course means that i should weigh less because of being an inch and a quarter shorter than i thought.
anyway, off i’m going to get my bone density measured. kevin took many many many photos of mom’s birthday party on monday night, and i’m going to post a few of them later. but maybe not till tomorrow, because i’m going to be busy for the rest of the day now. there are some funny photos. tomorrow morning, at the latest.
ok then,
wednesday grace.
