although of course it’s already saturday!  i took this picture and wanted to post it on thursday, as part of Thursday Doors, but as usual, i had no free time to sit down this week.  but luckily i read the fine print of norm’s requirements for posting and i have til noon today – noon eastern time, so still have 2 1/2 hours before the deadline.  whew.

and this isn’t even technically a door, but a doorway.  but this is les paul, the funniest kitty in the world.  he’s sitting on the doghouse that my dad bought for his little dogs.  dad passed away three years ago, and his pekinese Shortie and Gizmo died before that.  mom finally got rid of the doghouse this month, and les is thrilled to have it!

a part of the yard is fenced in so les won’t get out, but he’s managed to escape multiple times, but right now kevin has fortified the fence so he’s not escaping right now.  (here’s a video i made a few years ago of his shenanigans).

this summer i wanted to build some kind of jungle gym for lester, so i stacked a big pile of logs that i’d thrown over the fence for him, and he did like to sit on the pile and scratch on it, but now he’s quite pleased to sit on top of the doghouse.

which is now a cat house.  he does sit up on that log on the very top sometimes, and he does scratch on the logs, and i know i’ll eventually figure out how to make additional improvements.
