…and the itch goes on…i got a cortisone shot last week and i thought the poison ivy would poof, disappear.  it didn’t.  it’s good cause it’s not spreading anymore, and it’s not OOZING in that disgusting poison ivy-kinda way…but the itching continues to itch.  it’s not as bad, though, but it wakes me up a couple times every night which is annoying because every night i say THIS WILL BE THE NIGHT that i sleep all night long.  maybe someday…

i keep taking pictures with my phone but then not posting them here, so now here are a million.

the other day some geese came by with their goslings.

and then, another group of geese swam over, this time with tiny little goslings.  so cute!

i wish you could see this better, but my phone doesn’t really zoom…the goose is standing there with the goslings, who are wading around in the shallow part of the lake at the shore.

an then i managed to get a shot of the two goose families.

kevin and i have been babysitting the neighbor puppies whenever possible.  everybody was really tired here.

linda and bill had a combined birthday party on saturday night, and that morning randy and i picked up two dozen balloons, took them to the motor boat club, and did lots of decorating.  later in the day, though, i looked out and a round orange thing was bobbing along the water.  we realized it was a balloon, and then later, it had flown up into the peach tree.

here’s another view.  when we got to the party we counted the balloons and sure enough, there were only 23.  so this lone balloon escaped, bobbed all the way down to our house, and lodged itself in our tree.  very funny.  it was still there this morning, except more peach-sized.

it’s been so hot and mollie will not go in the water unless she falls in, but ted, the friendly dog next door, love the water.  he just crawled right over the rocks and stood there, cooling himself.

we have many trees, as do amy and jim, and sunday morning at about seven, jim heard a might sound outside.  one of the huge branches had fallen off one of their huge trees.

i mean, it looks like an entire tree, doesn’t it?  not jut a branch.

here’s the hole it left.  the problem is that this tree is pretty hollow.  it’s kind of a miracle that it’s still thriving despite the fact that it has these giant holes that you can see through.  when it finally dies, at least it won’t hit the house.

that big mass of green there is the top of the branch.

kevin got out the chain saw this morning and chopped it all up.  i was busy pulling weeds and I HOPE NONE OF IT WAS POISON IVY.

the other night we took janice, garrick and max out for a boat ride.  the boat is max’s FAVORITE THING IN THE WORLD.   he just sat there, his ears flapping.

yet another shot of the cute, cute puppies.

amy took this picture of numie today – he somehow hurt his leg the other day, and now he’s limping, which is very sad.  she says noodle is also limping, because he tried to jam himself through some part of their fence and he got stuck.  i’ve been babysitting them now for a couple of hours, and they didn’t seem to limp…they were too focused on trying to scoop up any stray bit of anything that might have been on the floor.

and that’s all for the VERY LAST DAY OF MAY.  funny, it’s so hot out now that it feels like we’re deep in the heart of summer.  this morning kevin woke up at 5:30 and i was awake too and finally decided to just GET UP, so we went for a walk about about 6:30, cause it was cool and lovely.  when we got back a school bus was just turning into the lane…it seems that kids should have been out of school a long time ago, but i guess they have a few torturous more days.

ok then,

mrs. tuesday hughes.
