kevin wrote a letter to the editor of the local paper, the State Journal-Register, after there was an article about songs being written about/for different candidates. he said that GRACE SMITH HUGHES has a video about barack obama on you tube…

this was very sweet of him, and they printed the letter today.

the thing about you tube is that there are MANY CRAZY PEOPLE OUT THERE, and some of them are finding my video. and then some of them are leaving comments about it on you tube….but here’s the great thing – I CAN DELETE THEM. and block them from ever sending me anything again.

some of them are funny in a moronic way. the other day a guy wrote a comment about “how many of these skanks will he have in the white house if he’s elected?”

a SKANK? i mean, yes, it’s not a nice thing to call a person a skank, but somehow it struck me as funny because…well, because i feel that if i was going to be a skank, i’d be the kind of person who wore hotpants. i’d be the kind of person who wore really tight hotpants even if my thighs bulged unattractively out of them.

i was afraid that i might get more unfriendly comments after the letter to the editor, and there were a few today. one guy said this was the WORST THING HE’S EVER SEEN ON YOU TUBE. now, i haven’t really watched a lot of things on you tube, but i do have a feeling that surely there must be something out there on you tube that is worse than my video. i mean, at least one little thing.

i feel that many of these people writing in are rather, uh…angry and strident republicans. some of the people don’t say bad things about me, but they have some pretty awful things to say about obama.

a woman wrote, saying she saw the letter to the editor so she watched the video…and she said she’s not voting for obama “not because he’s black.” so clearly, she’s not voting for him because he’s black.

the thing i keep thinking about all of this is that i made the video because i wanted to support him, and because i thought it would be fun. it was fun to make, fun to edit, a good time was had by all, including me and kevin and mollie, as well as amy and jim’s dogs Numie and Noodle and Shadow, and mom and dad’s dogs Shortie and Gizmo. i do have to say the cat Honey didn’t like it when i put a tiny straw hat with an obama sticker on it on her head, so she’s not in the video.

ok, i’m going to bed. and if you’re an angry republican who hates me and/or obama? and you’ve found this website? you can’t leave a comment here, either. this is a bashing-free zone.
