ok, i was going to conclude the first day’s cycling photos, but i haven’t done that quite yet, but i just got an e-mail from a lovely english woman named carol. kevin and i met carol and her friend mary when we were travelling home from scotland, and we all got together in NYC – it was mary and carol’s first trip to the US, and kevin and i walked around and found what we thought was a cute little irish pub not far from our and their hotels. my mom and friend sandy also joined us in NYC.
we all met up at the restaurant that night and it was VERY VERY LOUD and they stuck us at a table in the back, next to the local drunks who were singing along to most of the songs. so then they moved us to the front which was a little better, but i felt bad that we’d picked a lousy place there in NYC with great food and great restaurants everywhere.
oh well. anyway, mary just sent me this photo of all of us at the restaurant.
