that’s being very optimistic of me, isn’t it?  the thought that today will be a happy day, even though i’m sitting here BEFORE EIGHT A.M.

but it already feels like a happy day.  it was nice to wake up not all anxious and snarly.  that’s no way to be.

on monday, kevin bought mollie an ENORMOUS RAWHIDE BONE.  she danced into the room with it, and was so funny and cute as she proudly hauled it all around.

she nibbled on it a little, but then she took it outside.  this could only mean one thing – she was going to bury it.

we followed her out.

i shot a couple of videos as she looked for the perfect place for bone burial.

in this first one, she’s looking and looking…

this one shows just how meticulous she is about the burying.

she buried the bone inside the back fence.  yesterday morning when she went outside with kevin, she eventually came back inside with the bone…but she hadn’t been inside the fence.  she managed to dig a hole underneath it to get the bone out.  she’s a very smart dog.

last night as i was trying to fall asleep, she was working furiously at the bone.  i’m pretty sure she ate the whole thing.  this is quite an accomplishment, since it was so huge, plus it didn’t have time to soften and cure out there under the mulch.

winnie was looking particularly cute the other morning.  he lost his collar somewhere in the yard and we’ve been looking for it, but the high winds are making the leaves fall really fast, so maybe we’ll have to buy him a new one.

mollie was sniffing and sniffing the air.

ok then,

wednesday morning grace.
